“Born and educated in the Netherlands, I started as Curator for the Dutch Brave New Art Foundation organising an exhibitions programme with local and international Artists, collaborating on art projects with the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Architecture organisation 1ab, Museum Boymans-van Beuningen, Kunst Kanaal and the International Architecture Biennale.
Currently I am living in London (UK) and operating as an art advisor for clients in the US, China and Europe. Prior to this, I worked for US-private gallery, Gagosian gallery and cutting-edge London contemporary gallery, Store. Besides my advisory work I also co-manage an exhibition project space in Soho Central London with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange.”
Hester holds a BA in Fine Arts and Art History at Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam, MA in Comparative Literature from Rijksuniversity Leiden and completed her Mres (Doctoral) in Humanities and Cultural Studies at London Consortium on the topic of the private gallery collection, finished with a professional degree in Art Business Management from the
In 2003 Hester was awarded with the Young Cultural Entrepreneur prize by the Rotterdam Arts Council for ‘Meet The Artist’, a public visual arts programme that invited Artists to work on location for one month in an open studio environment. On invitation by Kees van Twist (Director, Groninger Museum 1999-2011) she sat as one of the judges for the A. Roland Holst Visual Arts Prize in 2006.
